If you don’t already have an account, you will need to set up a myGov identity online and link Centrelink to this account.
Once your myGov account has been created and linked to Centrelink, there are two types of payments you could be eligible for – the disaster recovery payment, and the disaster recovery allowance. A step-by-step guide can be obtained via the links below. You will find information about what the payments are, who can get it, how much you can get, and how to claim.
Disaster Recovery Payment
A lump sum payment to help you following the South East Queensland and Northern NSW floods starting in February 2022. You can obtain this payment if you have been significantly affected – it’s not for minor damage or inconvenience.
Disaster Recovery Allowance
Support for loss of income as a direct result of the South East Queensland and Northern NSW floods.
