On Friday, the Construction People team spent the day supporting the Property Industry Foundation’s Brisbane Charity Sailing Cup.
After a drizzly start to the day, we were treated to a perfect sunny afternoon on the water, and (just quietly) ‘Bazinga’, skippered by myself alongside co-sponsor Faction Consulting, secured a win!
Friday also marked the third year that I’ve been fortunate to combine my love of sailing with a cause I deem very worthy by assisting PIF to organise the skippers and crew that were on the 42 yachts sailing on the day. And I thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet and liaise with everyone involved in the lead up to the event!
Lastly and most importantly, PIF was successful in raising $70,000 through the Brisbane Sailing Cup this year. These are much-needed funds for their House Glass project. A housing development set to begin construction in Brisbane North next year. Once completed, it will house one family and six individuals.
A big congratulation goes out to the PIF team for smashing their fundraising goal. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!
